The Argenta Arts Foundation has partnered with P. Allen Smith , the City of North Little Rock, AY Magazine and the Argenta Downtown Council to celebrate Spring of 2011 with 25,000 Pink Tulips in downtown North Little Rock’s Argenta Arts District from March 25 – 31st and to honor those families affected by breast cancer.
P. Allen Smith is the Presenting Sponsor along his partners VanZyverden; ProMix and Yardistry Structures of the Plant It Pink Festival. The net proceeds from Sponsorship of the 28 individual flower beds and 50 pots of pink tulips will benefit the Arkansas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The week will begin with a ticketed Reception on Friday, March 25, 2011 in the CityGrove Townhomes Art Park on 5th Street between Main and Maple in Argenta. Full bar, delicious food and live music by Rodney Block Project. Tickets are $50, space is limited to 300. 6PM to 8PM
On Saturday March 26, 2011 P. Allen Smith will host a Spring Garden discussion at 9AM and lead a Susan G. Komen Honor's Walk down Main Street in Argenta starting at 10AM. Free to the public , no limitations on number of participants.
On Tuesday March 29th Tales from the South (www.talesfromthesouth.com) will feature Southern writers presenting short stories about the impact of breast cancer in their lives. Tickets for this event will include dinner and a live recording of the program for radio broadcast on NPR stations. Located at the Starving Artist Cafe, Tickets are $50 and space is limithed to 100.
The luncheon planned for March 30 has been cancelled.
Proceeds of the Festival will go to benefit the Arkansas Affilate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
